NEWMAN

NEWMAN project aims to demontrate the use of Nickel free metal powder in high perfomance components in  automotive and optical measurement fields

Nickel is a silvery-white material extracted by the earth’s crust.  Due to its unique properties, Nickel has many industrial uses, in particular for making stainless steeel and other corrosion resistant alloys. Indeed, in powder metallurgy the alloys to manufacture high performance components have always contained Nickel. Althought its useful properties, Nickel is a human carcinogen and is mainly imported from extra-EU countries, making the price volatile. For these reasons, reduce its use in metal alloys would be a good practice. Thus, NEWMAN project aims to test and demonstrate the high mechanical performance of Nickel-free components made by powder metallurgy in industrial environment
