Work Structure

WP0 GO TO MARKET STRATEGY

WP0 is focused on the definition of the Go to Market Strategy.  Within WP0 the current state-of the-art and the solutions currently utilised on the market will be investigated in order to define the right marketing strategy and plan. The analysis will cover both technical and economic aspects related to the exploitation of Nickel-free Powders.

WP1 PROJECT MANAGEMENT

WP1 has the overall objective to ensure a smooth implementation of the project and a satisfactory communication with both the KIC and EIT, as well as within the Consortium. The main tasks to be performed in this work package will be:coordination and monitoring of the research activities, administrative and financial management of the project, reporting and management of knowledge generated by the project, conflict resolution and monitoring of the quality and timing of the project.

WP2 DISSEMINATION AND COMMUNICATION PLAN

WP2 includes the activites related to communication and dissemination of the project. The main aims are to stimulate the transfer of knowledge between the corners of the knowledge triangle (research, education, innovation) and to enhance the professional skills of the project partners by increasing the collaboration and synergies within the consortium.

WP3 SELECTION OF NI-FREE POWDERS AND IDENTIFICATION OF PROCESSES PARAMETERS

WP3 is dedicated to assess the most appropriate Ni-free powder (NFP) composition to be used for the prototypes selected by the two case studies and to determine the optimum sintering process conditions and heat treatment parameters.

WP4 DESIGN OF PROTOTYPE, DIES AND TOOLS

WP4 will connect the expertise of designers, end-users, manufacturing companies, material suppliers and the academics with the aim of developing an integrated co-design approach able to fully exploit the potential of the powder metallurgy process and Nickel-free powders.

WP5 PROTOTYPES PRODUCTION

WP5 is dedicated to the set-up and tuning of the powder metallurgy process in an industrial environment and to the prototypes production. The goals are: to optimize the industrial processing conditions in order to produce prototypes that will be used to optimize the industrial heat treatment and to test the materials mechanical performances.

WP6 PROTOTYPES HEAT TREATMENT

WP6 is dedicated to tuning the final heat treatment in the industrial plant, in order to fully exploit the material potential, by achieving the mechanical performance required by the prototypes applications. When the optimum heat treatment parameters is identified, prototypes will be heat-treated before the testing phase.

WP7 TESTS ON PROTOTYPES

WP7 aims to validate and demonstrate the use of Nickel-Free Powder for the applications identified by the two case studies (Automotive and Optical Measurement Systems). The main tasks are the set-up of the testing equipment and the analysis of the mechanical behaviour and failure mode of the prototypes.

WP8 ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY ANALYSIS

WP8 will perform the environmental sustainability analysis of the production of components with Nickel-Free powders, via Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), with the aim to verify in a quantitative and holistic way the environmental benefits that might be obtained by using these metal powders.
